Adam Poynor

LTISD Director of Choral Activities

Born and raised in Abilene, Adam Poynor earned both a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Choral conducting from Hardin-Simmons University. 

Before going into his teaching career, he was the Assistant Director of the Abilene Performing Arts Company for three years.  When not performing on stage, he was the Music Director for Paramount Productions, Abilene Community Theatre, and the McMurry Summer Musical Theatre Program.

He began his teaching career in 2010 when he moved to Austin to be the choir director at Chapa Middle School.  While there, he transformed the choral program into one that consistently showed success and growth.  While there he held many leadership positions and was named Teacher-of-the-Year in 2017.  He was also the Region 18 Middle School Vocal Coordinator for 2015-2017.   In the 2017-2018 School year he was the assistant choir director at Stony Point High School in Round Rock.  He moved to Lake Travis High School the following year (2018) and is loving every minute of it.  The Cavalier Choir feels like home and he is so proud to be able to lead this talented group year after year.

Adam is a member of Texas Choral Directors Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, conducts the Lakeway Wildflowers, and sings with Voci d’Amici.

When not teaching, Adam enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with his family and his corgi, Lindy.

OUR ASSISTANT DIRECTOR

Lee Ashlee Fletcher

Lake Travis High School Choir Assistant Director

Lee Ashlee Fletcher is a graduate of Baylor University where she earned the Bachelor of Music Education degree. At Baylor, she was a Walker Harman Scholar and remained active in dual roles as a vocalist and flutist - performing with the acclaimed and Baylor Symphony Orchestra and at significant national conferences with the Baylor Wind Ensemble and Baylor Bella Voce. While in college, she held the Second Flute chair with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. She holds professional affiliations with TMEA, ACDA, TCDA, and NAfME. 

A native of Austin, Ms. Fletcher is a graduate of Westlake High School in Eanes ISD. When not teaching, she enjoys writing and performing music with her best friends, exploring the nature that Texas has to offer, and watching all the corgi videos she can!

Director of Fine Arts & Academic Enrichment

Shannon Gill

Ms. Gill possesses more than 20 years of experience in education and instructional leadership in fine arts at the public school and collegiate levels. She served as District Coordinator of Instrumental Music-Percussion (Zapata ISD); Assistant Band Director (McNeil High School, Georgetown High School, Anderson High School, and Grapevine High School); Adjunct Percussion Instructor (Southwestern University); Associate Band Director (Hernandez Middle School); and Head Band Director (Grapevine High School and Belton High School). She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education from Texas State University in San Marcos and received her principal certification from the Region 13 Education Service Center in Austin.

 

As LTISD Director of Fine Arts, Ms. Gill will be charged with providing guidance and support for performing and visual arts programs across K-12 grades.
