Our Directors

Born and raised in Abilene, Adam Poynor earned both a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Education and a Master of Music degree in Choral conducting from Hardin-Simmons University.

Before going into his teaching career, he was the Assistant Director of the Abilene Performing Arts Company for three years. When not performing on stage, he was the Music Director for Paramount Productions, Abilene Community Theatre, and the McMurry Summer Musical Theatre Program.

He began his teaching career in 2010 when he moved to Austin to be the choir director at Chapa Middle School. While there, he transformed the choral program into one that consistently showed success and growth. While there he held many leadership positions and was named Teacher-of-the-Year in 2017. He was also the Region 18 Middle School Vocal Coordinator for 2015-2017. In the 2017-2018 School year he was the assistant choir director at Stony Point High School in Round Rock. He moved to Lake Travis High School the following year (2018) and is loving every minute of it. The Cavalier Choir feels like home and he is so proud to be able to lead this talented group year after year.

Adam is a member of Texas Choral Directors Association, American Choral Directors Association, Texas Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, conducts the Lakeway Wildflowers, and sings with Voci d’Amici.

When not teaching, Adam enjoys cooking, running, and spending time with his family and his corgi, Lindy.

Lee Ashlee Fletcher is a choral educator, songwriter, and creative based in the Austin area whose work is rooted in building meaningful musical experiences and communities. A graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, she studied and performed as both a vocalist and flutist, appearing with the Baylor Symphony Orchestra, Baylor Wind Ensemble, and Baylor Bella Voce at major conferences and performances throughout the Southwest region of the USA.

While at Baylor, she was named a Walker Harman Scholar and also held the Second Flute chair with the Waco Symphony Orchestra. In 2025, she earned a Master of Arts in Songwritring from the Berklee College of Music.

Now in her seventh year at Lake Travis High School as Associate Choir Director, Mrs. Fletcher has become known for cultivating student leadership, musical excellence, and classrooms where students feel seen as people first. Her teaching philosophy blends high standards with authenticity, humor, and heart, focusing on creating spaces where young musicians can grow not only as performers, but as confident and connected individuals.

A native of Austin, Mrs. Fletcher remains active as a performer throughout Central Texas. She sings with the choir at Westlake Hills Presbyterian Church and is a member of the ‘26-‘27 Conspirare Symphonic Choir. She also remains active in the Texas music education community through professional organizations including TMEA, ACDA, and TCDA. Outside the classroom, Mrs. Fletcher writes music, produces creative projects with her husband, Scott, and maintains a highly curated and organized Meadowland Farm in her favorite video game: Stardew Valley.
